Sunset Avenue

Preserving this historic home was vital to the community’s heritage. Minor modifications were made to the exterior to preserve the legacy of the home. Situated across the street from the Kansas State University campus, the home had only two owners since it was built in 1930. Both were professors. The university is an integral part of this historic property. On a beautiful Kansas day, you can hear the marching band practice from the second floor. The original architecture is reminiscent of an English cottage and the exterior windows were shipped over from England during construction. Preserving the windows with original glass was extremely important. The house has a large back porch to cool off on a summer day. All doors and hardware are original to the house as is all flooring and moldings.
